Moving Transformers??
I'm trying to move a transformer, but it won't move along the surface of the ground. It's in a low elevation area and refuses to change elevation when I try to move it, so I end up placing it underground and the terrain deforms to dig a big hole around it...

its most likely part of a building. Detach it from the group and then it should follow the ground. Should be a orange box in the top right corner telling you, you are editing part of a building group. You can use the undo button to reverse what you did if its not too late.

you can also use the shift key i believe to change elevation, z key rotates, and control key you can change x and y axis i believe. You should really watch some let's plays if you are struggling to place a transformer. Keralis is always a good watch.

Well, when I try to move it, it says "Editing group 180," but when I just have it selected, it doesn't show that it's part of a group and doesn't give me the option to split from the group.

I ctrl+z'd it right away.

it might be because its part of a scenario? I know the one scenario in career mode you start out with a transformer that cannot be reached and this process of separating it from the group and replacing it has to be done with extreme precision to get it to work, its wonky.

I placed it to begin with, though. :-/

When you move a transformer or water treatment facility it assumes that you are adding something to the transformers own group. When you move the transformer there should be an exit group button. Try clicking it.

You might also have some setting en- or disabled.
