Vets won't pick up dead "escaped" animal

So one of my peacocks died while it was "escaped", even though it was still in it's cage. But now my vets won't remove the dead peacocks and will only try to catch it, even though it's dead. Does someone know how I can get rid of this dead peacock?

it doesn't matter in this case as the peafowl habitats will be a disease risk regardless.

Did you try quitting the game and coming back to it ? That has helped a few problems before so maybe in this situation it removes the dead body for you.

If anyone else is having this headache still in 2024, I found a solution! At least in my case... I tried all the suggestions others had put on various forums but nothing was working. However I persisted because I kept getting a stinking $1500 fine for an "escaped animal" that was dead... What worked for me was to move the habitat barrier so the stupid dead flamingo was inside it, then delete/fire the vet, make a staff path to the animal, and hire a new vet and place them nearby. They then boxed up the animal and took it away. This required me to delete my water, my boat ride, and move my barrier and build a new section of path HOWEVER, I then just clicked undo to reset everything back to how it was and voila, no more dead flamingo but my habitat was unchanged.
