How to do this? (tiled floors in an exhibit hall)
Here's what I have https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1932962622

I see its connected to paths, but I don't see any paths inside leading up to the exhibits so how's this achieved cuz when I go to place paths it goes all the way inside into the building directly up to all the exhibits inside so how do I replicate this similarly?

How do you do that? I guess I hit control key and place paths all around?

I downloaded this blueprint and here is your TUTORIAL :) place the blueprint but DON'T have any paths nearby for it to 'cling' to, once placed you should have a bare floor with 2 path pieces between 2 of the exhibits (see my first screenshot)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2018149144
Open your path menu and click on the tab ALIGN TO GRID (in my screenshot it is green because I am selecting the grid) hover your mouse over one of the path pieces until you see a 3x3 grid outline and the PROMPT: get grid from 4 mtr path piece, click to place the grid.
Every path piece you lay now will be aligned to that grid, check your pathing menu and make sure you DON'T have a tick mark in the little box under the one that is now green as we want rounded corners (see screenshot below) you can replace any existing path pieces by clicking on them to change the pattern used.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2018149038
Keep putting down path pieces until you have covered the whole floor and place one or two more at the exit door, you can now click on DESELECT GRID and go back to normal pathing.
I removed the roof of the exhibit so you can see what the finished path looks like (screenshot below) all of that pathing was laid using the grid.

Hope this helps

I thought I would use the grid, but I'm having a problem with one corner where it says the pathing is obstructed; you said to not have this near any paths... if I don't then when I need to move it the paths can't be moved with the placed BP?

I'm not sure what tick mark under the box that is now green you're talking about; I looked at your screenshot and don't see what you mean.
Moving Target Mar 9, 2020 @ 11:31am
For the tick mark it is the on path menu on the bottom right of the screen and it needs to NOT be green, the second screenshot has the clearest image of it, under the green DESELECT GRID box, on the last line of the menu is a white check box on the right (no tick mark in it) and the words square edges on the left, just make sure your menu looks like mine.
If you are getting pathing obstructed it is most likely the ground isn't entirely flat, sometimes there are weird underground potholes that can't be seen but they screw up paths. Use the terrain tool FLATTEN TO FOUNDATION over the entire area, if you can see a small white box on your screen with negative money notices popping up it means it has found something to flatten even if you can't see it.
When I said don't place it near paths I didn't mean put it on the other side of the zoo, place it where you need it to be and as long as it doesn't try to 'grab' onto existing paths you should be fine, if it does try grabbing an existing path then temporarily delete that section until you get this thing set up

I assume I can run paths parallel to each other? If so, will people go through the door or will they go through walls as well?
Blurplegirl Mar 9, 2020 @ 11:58am
I got it to path inside, but now I can't run my main park path parallel to it I guess I'll have to try to move the whole thing /sigh

Is there any way to move paths with a placed BP? because the way this is working out I can't place it directly next to my Zoo's main path putting the building in an awkward location

Or maybe this BP just sucks?

Paths cannot be moved or saved with a BP - and if the BP sucks that much how come I managed to lay the pathing with no problem? :steammocking:

Paths can be put parrallel to each other by holding CTRL as you place the first piece then using the 'GRID' or holding CTRL every time it tries to grab the other path

Maybe you should watch some path tutorials on You Tube

I had no problem placing the paths inside using your methods; when I went to re-lay the main path I kept getting obstruction; not sure paths can be parallel if they are slightly on top of each other even if using CTRL

Here it is; you'll see I have a gap but would have rather had the building right up next to the black path.

https://steamcommunity.com/id/MrGsPhace/screenshots/ but this works :D

And thanks

You can create a 'false path' using construction floor pieces some of which can be recoloured, just sink them into the gap to cover the grass
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2018309040
In the screenshot you can see I used some planks from construction (look at what is highlighted in green on the right side to see where they are or just search the name which you can see in the screenshot) I coloured some planks purple so you could see them and in between those I coloured some black, which you can barely see. This game takes a long time to master especially building, you sometimes need to find an alternative way to achieve the look you want . Plant flowers in the gap, use the edges of rocks, sink things into the ground to make them smaller or lower.
But tbh that small gap is less of a problem than no decent path at all, life is sometimes a compromise

I was thinking "no path is perfect in real life anyway" yeah I have some weird paths now that I've had to redo them ;)

This is simply using paths with no kerb etc on the ground and covering with pieces. Guests will still use it.

Yeah I kinda noticed guests will go through walls and whatnot too

what do you mean by "pieces" you mean, like wood planks and such? I also couldn't see how to "paint" the ground like he did in his last post where the path didn't meet but he filled in an area that would have been grass unless that's more path? That's an odd shape for a path to connect to it seems.
