hover your mouse over the path piece you just laid until a grid appears and place the grid

any path piece you lay while the grid is active will align with that grid, can set the grid to have rounded or square corners and change the type of path you are using too.

When done click on the path menu again to unselect grid and go back to normal path laying
Get creative and use the 'NATURAL PATH' piece to lay out a plaza you can then colour with any of the available terrain paints, the shot below shows picnic tables on a 'grass picnic area'

This is actually a plaza made from natural paths as you can only place picnic tables on paths
