Breeding silver rated animals

Ive been breeding peafowls, african dogs, rhinos etc. I have several silver rated animals, but for some reason the weekly challenge is only counting 2.
Am I missing something?

Are you certain the animals were born after the challenge started on Tuesday? You won't be rewarded for silver animals that already existed.

I am having the same problem. First litter of wild dogs after the event started was 5 pups. 2 of them were gold, and 3 were silver. I only got credit for 2. Since then I've had about 15 silver+ births, and have gotten no more credit. Stuck at 2. Tried restarting the game and even rebooting my PC.

Yes, all the animales were born today, all the parents were bought from the trade center. So they are all "new"
