Don't Build Underground T.T
So I had a fun idea to build some enclosures underground to give them a "creepier" feel.
Currently I have some Crocs and Gharials(sp?). It worked! Was really spooky and I threw in some smokers over blacklights and it looks cool as hell. The problem is the game only recognizes the width of the enclosure and not the height (which makes sense, but still...).
So my problem is now I have about 2000mtrs or whatever of space used up, underground, that has a very specific biome/flora build x.x
Since the game grabs everything within the width of the enclosure that means plants and ground type on the top level also affects everything below it. I spent way too much time building underground. So....I kinda just have an empty space topside now.
Luckily I'm playing freemode so I can turn off animal needs or whatever but it still kinda bummed me out. I enjoy trying to care for the animals as much as building enclosures.

Anyway I just thought I'd share this in case anyone else gets the idea as it is a lot of work.

thanks for sharing.

I've built some exhibits in an underground cave, and I didn't dig deep enough. The layer above ground looks fine (and it did work to dig beneath it), but as soon as i want to build a path up top it says terrain is uneven. So i guess digging out big spaces tends to cause problems, but it still looks cool as hell :)

But maybe in your case you could just use the upper terrain as well? Connect the underground cave as a natural cave below the upper habitat for the animals. Could be really cool.
