So you just have 4 lions and a few other things?
Leech Nov 29, 2019 @ 11:17am
I've got 4 Lions, 10 Pandas, 2 Grizzly bears and 4 Elephants atm

So the rest of your food is only costing 12k??? Where are you getting your lion food price?

Also, have you played the game a lot? Just that they are some high cost animals you are starting with. Will be hard to keep zoo afloat if you dont know the game.

Does the enrichment Items cost per restock as well?

EDIT: There was a constant bug which the Zoo Keepers kept placing food down so i got charged for it even though i didn't have the food trays.

Many of the big-ticket animals have very expensive food. Lions and Pandas, for example. If you cannot afford to feed them, limit their numbers, or store them in the trading center until you recover from being in debt.

Studies of wild lions have estimated that they eat between 10 and 25 pounds of food per day, per lion. 25 lbs of premium meat for four lions is a lot of money.

Yeah I think it was a bit of that and a bug when i removed the food trays + Animals. The price kept going up even with no trays + Animals. It's all sorted now :)

Wow, ok, that is really interesting and might explain other peoples issues! I was going to say, my zoo has 300 animals and my yearly food cost is only 80k.

I took out all feeding trays, i have food enrichment items but it doesnt say the cost and per year, mine is still 45K and i only have 15 animals give or take.

its because of the latest patch, it broke the game

No wonder your food prices are killing you, you've chosen the most expensive animals to feed....I almost always start with Nile Monitors and Galapagos turtles as they will quickly generate cash, then I start advancing into mid range animals. I try not to expand too fast and put my animals on grade 3 (the best) food once their research is done to get max animal happiness and better breeding. I also never inbreed and make sure that I have just the right amount of food and drink variety distributed throughout my zoo. (I don't do food courts). I have never had a problem with $'s and play almost exclusively in franchise mode. You can do it, but I would box some of those expensive dudes up for awhile, so you can get some money makers in your zoo.
