Preventing litter problems (a solution!)
The first zoo I built ended up bankrupt because the rubbish bins weren't getting emptied fast enough and guests were throwing rubbish on the ground. This upset lots of guests, and so lead to far too many refunds. I tried hiring more caretakers, but it just lead the zoo deep into the red even faster.

So on my second zoo attempt, I realized that there is no negative impact from rubbish bins like there was in Zoo Tycoon. Guests only get upset by full rubbish bins. I decided to try putting bins in groups of 3 every 20 meters or so down the path. And it works!!!

The guests will put the rubbish into an empty one, and it doesn't take the caretaker too long to empty 3 side-by-side bins. The number of caretakers I have needed is surprisingly low too.

I usually have a bin next to a bench or table. Not too trashy but because I put benches regularly down the path it is frequent enough. Whenever I do this and have the caretaker patrol the path using the atm machines and/or toilets I never have a litter problem until there are too many people for the size of the zoo.

You dont actually need much bins. Generally just around shops.

But a nice way to place bins is to place them with benches. Then its like a resting spot. I generally do 2 bins per 2 benches snd have huge distance between them.

Use the do not feed the animals sign with some bins. I dont know if this is the case exactly, but guests never take trash out of my food court due to this

Nothing wrong with placing 3 bins together. Last week i went to Chester Zoo (UK) and there were like 8 placed close together, and this was from the car park to the entrance. Inside the Zoo they had like these big wooden bins. It was basicially 4 seperate bins encased in a wooden structure so it really looked like just 1 bin. There were 4 spaces in the stucture to throw rubbish.

You could actually do this ingame. Place maybe 4 bins together and build something around them to hide them away. Might try this actually, this has given me a cool idea.

So you can hide your bins and it still works fine. As you can see the litter is being thrown in the bin. The only thing that looks odd with this design is the caretaker clips through the sloped part of the bin.

Works perfectly though. 3 bins together hidden away.

thats how i build it with 4 bins and 4 benches
i will hide every bins like the right ones.
that is just one floor.. it has all together 10 floors. i placed like more then 1500 bins and covered like a little over half. there will be more then 3000 bins at the end, because i will add a little bit more

Loving the design. So much attention to detail in this game.
