How many animals in there ?
How many zoo keepers are assigned to that habitat ?
Is there any water in the habitat ?
Can the zoo keeper access the areas that need cleaning up ?
All these questions could help point out why it isn't working.
When I call a keeper to a habitat, they tend to handle the feeding first, which means they leave again to go prepare the food in the keeper's hut. Then when they're done with the feeding, they do the cleaning.
They do have a task list under the second tab, when you select a keeper. Don't think you can make them prioritize cleaning over other tasks, it's just checkboxes, but you could perhaps temporarily turn off 'feed habitat' for the keeper that responds, or maybe make a dedicated cleaner. (Not sure how effective that would be - I just waited it out the few times it happened and then hired some reinforcements ans fiddled with the work zones so it didn't happen again.)
Yeah, I had a super successful zoo before the update, but now I'm getting a ton of dirty habitat alerts. Yesterday my zoo was fine when I saved and closed. Loaded in today and got 5 alerts instantly.
I had this issue also.
Eventually worked out that when it said "dirty" it meant i didn;t have a water pump thing within range.
Once i worked that out, things seemed ok,
But i'm only on the 4th map (maple park?).
#1. Heat Map Mode, Habitat (2nd button along top), Dropdown to Habitat cleanliness. That should let you see everything in a habitat that is contributing to it being a filthy bog.
#2. If there are red spots around the habitat, that is probably animal crap. Gotta get a keeper in for that. If the water doesn't show up as blue, it is probably the water that is filthy, and you can fix that with a Water Treatment device in range (needs Electricity too). If I'm being quite honest, you should ALWAYS make sure to have all habitats with water inside covered by Electricity, Water Treatment and a Water Temperate Regulator.
#3. If Keepers aren't going to the habitat, you might first want to check you have enough Keepers... then check the Work Zone settings to make sure the habitat is in a Work Zone and at least one Keeper is assigned to it. Keepers may take a while to get there if they're overworked, spread too thinly, low on energy or unhappy. Ideally, you'd want a smaller Work Zone assigned to just one or two habitats per Keeper. Plus make sure they've got all the necessary staff buildings.
#4. Also make sure visitors can't throw junk into the habitat. Nice TALL walls are good for that. No crappy fences nor waist-high walls. High path overlooks going over habitats are fine, but make sure there are a lot of bins put up there too so the little hoodlums don't make a mess below.
