How bad is inbreeding?
Due to the in my opinion very unflexible and kinda annoying purchase system for new animals, its very difficult to prevent inbreeding over time without like, replacing half of my animals. Especially with some animals its becoming annoying as they will start fighting as soon as there are two males in the herd and i need to make several enclosures for every kind of animal. So, how bad is taking the risk of inbreeding in times of short money or the need for new animals?

The trade centre does seem to suffer badly with lag but I find it quite good.

Inbreeding is terrible. I wouldn’t advise it. Animals will come along that cannot mate. Die young etc.

Best way to control it initially is to use the contraceptives.

Inbreeding only affects fertility and the immune system. Animal age will not be affected. It can be difficult for slow breeders, but I've had my tortoises and warthogs for over 200 years now without ever buying new ones, so it's definitely possible to keep a species in the zoo without fresh blood.

Also, research gives a bonus on fertility (30%?), so even when their initial fertility is at 0% it's still possible for them to get kids.

Inbreeding decreases the chance of good ratings for fertility and immunity. That said, inbreeding is also a good, cheap way to increase the size and longevity ratings of your animals. So it's not necessarily bad (and can even be beneficial depending on what you want to achieve), you just don't want to overdo it.

What you can do, is to allow or even foster the inbreeding, but always compare your possible mating pairs in the "compare mate" interface. This will show you the possible stat range of their offspring. If it gets difficult to find mates that provide good chances for good values in fertility and immunity, then it's a good idea to inject some fresh genes into your breeding.

See my post below, but inbreeding is perfectly fine in order to develop Size and Longevity to 100/100/x/x, then stop the inbreeding and compare mates and herd ratios to breed solid offspring that will get you a lot of $'s or CCs.
