What's the point of glass?

I'm really frustrated with how the animals which everyone wants to see all require immense brick walls, and people tell me to put glass in the habitat to increase visibility.

Why would I do that though? A one way pane takes away THE ENTIRE WALL. If they require a 5 strength wall, why would you EVER want to downgrade it to 2 strength entirely? The game outright tells you that's a horrible idea but never tells you why you should do it anyways.

Adding glass windows to a brick wall doesn't lower the strength. I know, it's silly.

The one way glass doesn't add itself to the wall, it took the entire wall's space. I couldn't add it to the wall like you can for regular glass.

Are you sure? All fence replacement functions the same, unless you mean you want a glass window inside a brick wall, which you can't do afaik. If replacing one segment of brick is turning the whole exhibit to glass, either it was done wrong or you have a bug

It might've bugged out, after all in this zoo I also can't unlock certain researched enrichments like the fruit cube.

When you wanna put the brick wall, theres an option to add glass on the bottom right of the screen (on the window to change angle snapping, length, etc).

Glass wall and glass on a wall are two different things

You don't make a glass barrier but add a window. It's an option in the main barriers section (not a setting) to add windows. Look closer at the options there. In the meantime check this out.
