Crocodiles
Hello,

I don't get it, I have 2 crocodiles (according to Zoopedia feasible) and a huge enclosure and still the two have 0 percent space and are unhappy. It doesn't matter how much I enlarge the enclosure, what can I do?

Pls help.

Thx

their water space is zero, you have to add water to their habitat

Use the heat map to make sure they can reach everywhere. I made an elephant enclosure but because of a ramp from the gate the elephant enclosure to the elephant was mere metres. I moved 1 log and it was the whole size again.

I had this issue with a Gharial today, turned out a toy had ended up in a position that bocked him, once I removed the toy he had lots of space.

This. Sometimes they get stuck places and space is reduced. Usuallly happens on rocks.

Screenshot?

Check the heat map and see whether there is adequate traversal space and water space for them. The larger the habitat the more chance this will work as each item added to the habitat turns into an area of non traversal. So don't make the habitat just the right size and then put stuff into it as it will make their traversal space smaller.

I had the same problem and it was because they 1. couldn't get to the water and 2. the land area was covered with non walkable areas.. I had to adjust the habitat to make it bigger so ended up making a walk over path so I could remove the path to the side and expand the habitat enough to make them happy ( it was a scenario with a limited area to build things rofl ).

Lesson learned ... leave plenty of space around your habitat for expansion in case you need it. I usually have the space of a 7 path width between the main path and the habitat wall and create a smaller viewing path at key points around the habitat ( or where I want them viewing ). I then have room to expand out if needed without affecting pathing. Or adding a shop if they want it at that location :)

If you turn on steam overlay you can use your screenshot button to save and then upload to steam.

Look at his terrain tab, is he showing zero water? Have you seen him in the water? Crocs have TERRIBLE ability to go down slopes and rocks, particularly large males. That fact your female is ok means nothing, all sexs and age groups run different pathfinding heatmaps. You need a very smooth slope for a male croc.

Yeah placement of trees and rocks can block animals paths.
