Who is a master of the path?
I need some tips before I punch the screen and sign up for anger management classes!

It seem like every time I want to fix some existing paths on the ground I have to move the barriers away from where I want the paths to go, possibly modify the old paths and destroy any paths located above where I want to place new ones.

It can't be this difficult, can it?

I've played 100 hours and still suck at it. There are a few buttons that help though, I think Control turns off the auto connect paths, sometimes helps.

Not sure what exactly the problem is, but it's difficult to build exactly next to barrier, especially if it's curved. There are a lot of great youtube guides out there though, maybe check them out to learn some tricks?

youll get better, :-) only tip is stick at it.
Didnt know about "ctrl" turning off auto connect, thanks,
using the grid will help from time to time

I have and still there's some situations where it just doesn't make sense. Like right now despite building to the 'grid' my upper path doesn't line up with my lower path and thus my barrier surrounding it looks dumb. I don't even mess with curved stuff when square is hard enough.

There are several very good videos on YouTube that go through everything very great tutorials

Another thing you can do is make neater curved habitats with the Brick wall barrier. You can then change the style of the barrier to one of your choosing. Then you can shape the paths perfectly right upto the barrier.
look for Geekism on Youtube, youll learn a lot of new tricks and itll give you some good creative ideas as well.

holding down control will let you move a single section of path freely for placement. Holding down shift will let you raise the path up or down. Make sure you check your option page to locate the options like "snap alongside barrier, T Junction, etc.

I have 200+ hours in game, but I just wasted 30 minutes trying to connect a barrier door a nearby path on flat ground. It's frustrating to deal with trying different settings, hotkeys, etc. Honestly, I wish they would rework the whole system to make it simpler. If I need to watch tutorial videos on how to place paths, it means the system is far too complicated.

I seriously wanted to buy the arctic-dlc. So I just prepared a new park, but the pathing.. wow.. it made me so angry again, I just deinstalled the game.

Second for Geekism. I would also recommend PaulsLey on YT. I was extremely frustrated with the path building system. After watching these two tutorials, I am now only very annoyed at the terrible path building system.

I find laying paths very easy. Maybe because I play Planet Coaster as well and it uses the same pathing system. So as soon as I started with Planet Zoo i knew how to lay the paths.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Laying simple paths is easy, I think when you get to multiple levels or around barriers it's no fun. I too played Planet Coaster.

I agree. Almost wish it was a block system where you just put down blocks like you do with most buildings.

I usually go through the check boxes in all variations when I'm having trouble with certain paths.

One thing that might help: You cannot join a path to another path that is not level. Many time when a path snaps to another path it might not be level. It might look level, but no.
