Why do I have 50% guest happiness?
As above, in the guest tab, all the needs are in the green, on the right, there are 90% green happy bubbles with a few random orange "The zoo feels small" issues. If I go into heatmaps, 50% of my guests are in the red for overall happiness, clicking heatmaps for individual needs shows 90% green. Clicking on guests that are unhappy have no unhappy thoughts, all mostly green.

Why? Why are they so unhappy? It's killing all my money, 10k+ in refunds. Like, what the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with these people? ALL THEIR NEEDS ARE SATISFIED.

Edit: Keep clicking on red people to see whats up, most of them have only positive thoughts. ?!?!?!?

Kinda sounds like lack of education or your staff facilities are ruining their day.

I recently got the achievment for 5 star education. So it's not that. Staff facilities are all out of the way, no radius even touches a path.

Maybe it's one of those things where they can't see everything they want because the zoo is to big. Or maybe it's pickpockets.

Do you have plenty of security and cameras around? Maybe they are getting robbed.

On the heat map, hit the little down arrows to look at specific things that affect them and see which one is affecting the most people? Maybe check for vandalized items, too.

I had something similar until I hired several guards and put cameras everywhere. Visitors were unhappy with pickpocketing. But this can be found out only on the contribution of Crime, and not from messages from visitors. I fought for a long time over this, now I have 98% satisfaction with visitors.

0 victims of pickpocketing.

Has some awesome tips - also I checked guests needs as they entered and left the zoo and with one of my Franchises that was struggling I noticed that most of the guests had 1 or more exhibit animals in their wish list, my exhibits building was on the far side of my zoo and most guests were leaving before they got to it so I moved it nearer to the mid point of my zoo, worked a treat and I was back to making a profit in no time................not easy when you have a Polar Bear habitat to support lol

Maybe post up an image showing what you are seeing. Maybe there is something that isn't known to be affecting the happiness but actually is.

Maybe them being in the green means they are just over 50% with things like litter periodically kicking them down or thirst/hunger/toilet hitting below 50% occasionally.

My understanding is that the guest tab is your overall average stats over time whereas the heatmap is what you have now... if the heat map is showing all green everytime you check then eventually the average should rise as well.

Put it on the workshop so we can see it?

Exhibit is just off the center to the zoo, its the first place they all go to.

will try to get that done later today if i can figure out how.
Placed security cameras everywhere, still 50%. I went from 100k to -40k. I think my zoo is just done, theres no way to fix this
Moving Target Jan 29, 2020 @ 8:05am
There IS a way to fix this, I have pulled 2 Franchise zoos back from the brink and it just needs a few fixes, if you watched the video I linked that gave me a lot a vital tips on increasing guest happiness but more importantly on how to keep it there.
To start the rescue you need to identify any habitat with very high food costs and temporarily close it down or swap in any cheap to feed species, reduce staff numbers as much as you can, don't charge for toilets or ATMs as they don't make a significant amount of money and free services make guests happier, make picnic benches the main seating option as a guest using one gains significantly more happiness than at a normal bench (got that tip from the video and it REALLY works) make sure guests get maximum education as soon as possible as this buff helps maintain their happiness buff longer as they walk around (also a tip from the video) so maybe add more info boards near the entrance.
Anyway, please watch the video and stick with it, saving a failing zoo isn't easy but it CAN be done
People complain about not being able to see animals, whole new load of pathing everywhere to get better access, still unhappy.

It's hard, my biggest money sink is the polar bears but they are by the far biggest money maker of my zoo.
meh, I've just given up. Maybe I'll start a new zoo in a month.
