Unfortunately my screenshot button is broken. It's part of the Madagascar tutorial where you are placing the research building inside a shell and it wants you to undo the "auto stacking." My issue is I am not finding auto stacking option on anything to undo.
I think what's happening is you have placed a shop shell and the shop itself won't properly go inside it or line up with it correctly?
You have to notice when you're in edit mode for each building. For example, when you have placed the shop shell then you select an actual shop, these two items are not a part of the same scenery, but is you hover the shop over the shop shell it will show you an notification asking if you want to add building to this selection. Choosing yes will put the shop into grid mode in perfect alignment with the shop shell. These are now one item. you might just need to press Z a couple of times to rotate it the correct way.
This will happen every time you're building scenery. As long as you stay in edit mode for any given construction then all of those items will glue together as one scenery group.
When you've exited a scenery group you can click on it and you will see it selects all of the items in that group, click the pencil icon in it's info panel to go back into editing mode.
If you don't go into editing mode you can still build but it will be a different grid and a different scenery group.
