Congested Intersection
Hi all,

I'm having this problem with my zoo where the majority of my 5000+ guests will congest in one intersection leaving the majority of the zoo practically empty. I like building walkways all over the habitats (with floating food and drink stalls here and there) and guests seem to like them over watching animals through glass on the ground.

It's a bit frustrating as this has happened in all of my zoos and almost always where my African Savannah is located where I house the giraffes, buffaloes, springboks, Thomson's gazelles, zebras, etc. It's a deadlock situation and if one of my employees gets stuck in the middle then it is over - there is no escape.

I've posted the below pics but I'm not sure if it shows.

Any ideas?

Wider paths by using the grid mode to redo them would be my first instinct.

Dunno if it will help but maybe try building a transport ride from entrance to back, so guests might take it across instead of getting stuck on the path congestions.

I have the same Problem =( wider paths (i even moved a whole habitat for that Oo) didn´t work. They just don´t like all the animals maybe xD?

If you go for a large Zoo i would alltimes suggest to go for 10 wide paths on all mainways. But imho the mainprob is that your shops directly sitting on the paths i suggest to set em back a little so the unusual guest movement or the queqes arround the shops didnt disturb the general guest flow. Apart from the narrow paths, is that 2 or 3 food/drink vendors - with queues of people - right by the intersection? Try removing them and it may even sort itself out.

I agree

The problem is that the queues for the drinks/food are so long it congests the other guests walking by and you get the "bottleneck" effect happening

You need to move the drinks/food stalls off the main path, try having small branching paths off the main walkway so the queue for the food/drink don't block the flow of the groups of guests walking by

Also, if you can, try maximising the width of the paths to the larger size of 9/10. If space prevents that then have more branching pathways to allow the "flow" of guests to move off the main walkways
