Fertility and Immunity Genetics Question
Ok, so I'm reading the help section about them and I just want to be sure I'm understanding this: fertility and immunity issues come from inbreeding. So, if I breed two unrelated animals with poor immunity and/or fertility, the offspring won't necessarily inherit that because the offspring is not inbred?

The chances of any inherited stats - going either way - can be seen when you compare mates and sure, for the most part, and I guess it's why you're asking, you could breed out poor stats.

Okay, you've kinda asked two questions so I'll split my answer into two parts

- Inbreeding only comes from animals that are related; mother/father/brother/sister/grandparents (up to four generations) so if the animals are not related then you will not get inbreeding, regardless of their bad genes

- I'm not sure if you know this, but you can compare mates, between male and females of the same species to determine the genetic quality their offspring can be

When you compare mates, you will see the four criteria, size, longevity, fertility and immunity gene potential. The red zone for each is the range that any offspring will fall in.

So, let’s say you have size for the mother at 50% and the father is 75%. Any offspring born will have their size randomised (roughly) between 50-75% which is the red zone.

I don't think it is absolute, I think you can get animals that are genetically "blessed" that will have better stats (or if you are unlucky worse stats) then what the red meter says. But it’s a good guide to work out the average genetic potential of any offspring
