How to stop Alpha fighting??
Seriously, how do you stop animals from fighting over dominance? I have a wolf enclosure with two male and two female. Can I only have one of each? Their social says they can have multiple.

What do I do?

They will always be fightning for alpha status in a pack no way to stop it. If you don't want fights you have to seperate them.

Simply, have less animals

In the case of bears/wolves have only 1 male/female pair. For the Wild Dogs you can have up to 2 male/female pairs

You can turn off animal rights in Sandbox mode, but in every other game mode you need to watch your social groups.

This should no longer be the case, they patched it last time out. They should now work like proper pack animals, so they will fight for alpha (both males and females) once they are established things calm down. You just have to let them fight until they get their pecking order. I have had large packs of wolves and dogs with multiple adult males and females, it can get feisty but it does in real life.

Nope they will still fight for alpha status, they just wont fight because of the incorrect ratio of male and females because the amount was raised.

Yes they fight, but once alpha status is sorted out they stop fighting for a while, until another animal wants to challenge. They will never stop fighting, it will become a lot less frequent. Check patch notes for more info. That is the way it is supposed to work, if you want to run larger packs you can but you have occasional fights. I think it works the same for chimps, mine sometime fight but I just leave them to it.

As long as you watch for injuries and make sure they have plenty of space it will be fine. In the real world the animals have an area from which they dominate with others outside going solo until they try to take over again .. think of it like somewhere to go to lick their wounds and toughen up a bit more. Maybe set up an artificial partial border like a mountain or forest area to help keep the animal groups separated longer.

For breeding purposes you can either have a single pair and switch out the children when they grow up or watch for alpha status changes and know that any children born after a status change are to the alpha parents. How you micro manage this scenario is up to the individual.

My chimps dont fight all the time. I have one main alpha male and if any of the other pipe up he gives them a slap and things get back to normal.

This will always, just like in real life, be a problem. Solve it? Pick you'r best Alpha and put him (or her) in. Then you'll have a lot of children and when the firstborn (prevered golden) get's an adult age..., you change the Alpha (not related). Look at the button below on the left and there you can see if you're animals are able you produce kids. When you click on that button, you see a line-up. click on the most left and scroll one down.
Good luck!!
