Low Social Welfare
My Baird's Tapir enclosure has low social welfare despite having a good adult population, what can I do to better improve social welfare?

Check the social tab of the habitat. You can have too many animals

click on social of any of your animals and check stress. You may need better coverage against the crowds.

I often just says "Social" at a low percentage, this is really badly conveyed..

I had this issue with Chimps. They were having Social issues related to space. No other information was given, just "space". It turns out their space issue was solved by the terrain tab because they didn't have enough "climbable" terrain.

I'm not familiar with Tapir's, but you might just check out the other tabs to see if their "social" issue is really supposed to be in a different category.

Wanting to add to the statement of the others:

It can also be related to Stress. Stress comes from the animal being shy and all the people looking at them or they don't have enough hide places. One way to fix it is the one-way glass. Another is elevated paths over the exhibit.

Be sure to use the Zoopedia. Tons of great information in there for each animal. There is also interspecies social but it appears the Tapir is a loner and doesn't like to mingle. Tapir's group size is 1-2 but if 2 they need to be male and female. If you have more than that you need to get rid of some.

I have elevated paths over my Pandas and they are still stressed. They have a big place to go inside away from people but still not working. I am going to start looking into if having 3 or 4 is to many...
