Unpowered signs for enclosures?
I don't know to what zones the Planet Zoo devs have been, but most Zoos I have been to (that is a quite large collections around Europe), signs for enclosures are not powered, but are made of a printed plate (plastic/metal) most of the time. The TV screens of Planet Zoo feel very odd especially if building a small zoo or a very nature-inspired zoo...everything is designed in a close-to-nature-look and suddenly ... TV SCREEN!

Also it forces you to have the power grid extend everywhere just for signs.

Because the information on the screens expands with the research. With non powered signs u logically would need to place a new sign everytime u got higher research levels

Im pretty sure its for gameplay reasons and why not be high tech

Cause it's 2019, everything is high tech ;)

Lol, but seriously I understand what you mean. It kinda ruins the natural vibe, when a printed plate could look nicer and can be updated with new information by just replacing it.

Would be nice to have Signs without power yes. But every Zoo needs to have electrizity. What i really dont understand is: Dont they have Cables in Planet Zoo? I mean why cant i build some form of Power Grid? Because yes, it is really anoying that you have to spam Power Stations all over the map, becaus... cables? Nah, too fancy.

Yeah I get that. Probably a design oversight. It's not a city building game so the detail with power and water cleaning is a little basic

But this would cause even more micromanagement.. But I agree it would be nice to have at least the option for non powered for those who prefer these. I personally feel more disturbed by the donation bins

Well, I assume it would be updated automatically like with the electronic versions. :)

Yes i would love to have some form of Power grid. Right now i have completed a huge Castle and right in the middle is no Power :D :D :D

Now my lights dont work theire, thats just absurd, i understand the Game design, but just think about it, you enter Versaille an in the middle is no Power, you ask why and they say "well cause the Generator is too far away - stupid"

Every zoo needs to have power, that is properly true, but especially in wildlife parks I have been there are very large and remote enclosures where I would be very surprised if they had power there.

One more...transformers serously? The zoos are supposed to be everywhere in the world, but the power grid is built like its 110V all the time...in 220/230V countries, transfer distance can be much longer.
