store animals?
Since I am not sure how the animal storage is working:

If I put an animal into storage (for example the offspring of my breeding couple), can it stay there indefinitely? Or are there any detriments, meaning will the animal get unhappy, does it get older or can it even die?

I don't necessarily want to sell the offspring or build another habitat for them to prevent inbreeding (I know I could use contraceptives), but kind of 'park' them for later to maybe use them for breeding when their parents die of old age - is that possible?

According to the dev log I'd read it essentially freezes them in time, so yes you can perpetually store animals in there without any negative consequences.

Personally I think its a bit cheaty but that's definitely how it works.

Okay, that's cool. Thanks for the clarification! :)

I agree it's a bit cheaty, but it's too much trouble (for me) to build multiple habitats just to maintain a healthy breeding programme with animals who were born in my zoo (since they automatically inbreed with family members if they are kept in the same habitat).

By storing some of the more eligible ones, I can later use them to breed and 'continue the family line'.

I agree. I use it the same way.

I completely understand and to be very honest I'd have probably abused this feature if I knew what it was back when I had a sudden population boom of Komodo babies that were bankrupting me with food bills and I couldn't release them until they were all adults.
