I've a bear enclosure with a small family group and 4 or so enrichment feeders with a normal one i haven't removed yet but the normal one is rarely if ever filled. The keepers fill what they can until their food bucket runs out. I think but can't confirm that they only put so much food into an enclosure at a time depending on animal population so that could be why your standard bowl is never filled depending on what number of enrichment feeders and animal population you have in there. For example I have seen a large feeder in my warthogs be filled to 20% or ignored if there's feeder barrels etc with 2 animals in but when there's 9 animals in the enclosure most of the feeder is full plus the enrichment ones.
The problem could be also due to workload. I've found I need to keep a ratio of almost 1:1 keepers to enclosures if they're 1 star keepers. You might be finding they're overworked and having to run to another enclosure to prioritise so aren't quite filling everything to the max possible for animal type/number. Layout of your keeper huts and entrances to enclosures will affect this as well (plus how far inside the enclosure the keeper has to travel to fill feeders, clean up etc) due to travel times.
One of the hardest things I've personally found to get used to so far has been the keeper numbers, i'm too used to the old zoo tycoon games where you could easily enough have a single keeper look after 3 or 4+ good sized enclosures. It's taken a bit of getting used to.
The poop in water one is definitely an issue i hope they fix though, i haven't seen it personally but I've read a few others mentioning it. Also watch if you're building shelters out of rocks etc - especially for smaller animals. if they poop inside the shelter or it gets knocked in make sure the entrance isn't too low that the keeper can't get in to clean it as you'll get the disease warning for cleanliness but no matter how often you call a keeper it doesn't get cleaned. I had that problem with aardvarks and after manually finding where it was had to move some of the rocks about a bit so the keeper could get into their shelter area.
As for feeding maybe the keeper cannot reach the hut. Place a new hut in the open to make sure thats not the issue. Make sureits sll in a work zone. Snd they only feedwhen hungry
But if i fire one keeper and hire new one and drop him front of the door and assign workzone, he immediately goes to help that lone worker in habitat. Strange.
I noticed that the called Keeper was stuck in the "tower" with the spiral stairs.
It seems when you call a Keeper and he cant reach the compound / is stuck no other keeper will come
I ended up setting up staff buildings on stilts across the water area between the islands and adding any additional staff for the habitats I placed on the islands. Once they were connected to the main land the staff came to my buildings rather than the built in ones rofl.
Good point there .. that could explain some of the issues as I prefer those newer ones to the original ones.
70% they do nothing... and over 20% they are walking around... (i can see this in the information about the workers) they never feed with "normal" feeding places... and only fill some of the playing feed places... (not everyone, my pandas starve to death WITH both of feeding places)
If i have only normal feeding places all my animals starve to death...
this makes franchise mode for me nearly impossible to play cause you have not everything from the beginning...
I placed the stuff rooms etc. near at the gate... they have no problem with getting inside... but they do nothing inside... they dont use their buildings correctly... they run around totally useless (to buildings that are NOT in their working plan) etc. etc. etc....
