Help with Elephants Escaping
I'm having major problems keeping elephants contained. I had level 2 glass, about 20 feet tall but they easily broke through that, so I thought I'd get "smart" and put a shorter concrete wall to prevent them from reaching the glass. In real to life, they leaned over and while stretched over the concrete wall head butted the glass barrier out of existence.

What do I need to do to keep my elephants contained? I'm in sandbox right now so money is not an option. I'm using glass for all my other animals and aside from orangutan escapes (which I realized my problems there) I haven't had any other issues...yet. My bison may be a problem in the near future now that I think of it...

you have to use a stronger material than glass. Make the wall concrete and add windows

Thanks so concrete wall is the way to go, I just need to use it for the entire wall, not as a barrier to the wall. Much appreciated!

You can actually see what level of toughness an animal needs by reading about its habitat etc. in the ingame zoopedia. Its very good to get an understanding of how big you need to build to etc.

Zoopedia says level 2 barrier is enough for elephants so not sure why they were breaking through your level 2 barrier. Are you sure they were breaking through it and it didn't just fell apart because of low maintenance and bad condition?

One solution is to place rocks or construction walls along your fences. Animals cant go thourgh those :D

Yes I had same issues, by elephants were smashing thru the barriers all the time. I finally got fed up and replaced with anoher animal.

I haven't tested it but I imagine that putting a custom wood top or something along the fence line would stop them being able to break out. Mine haven't broke my brick fence but if they do I'll be trying that next for sure. Things cost me a lot of the first lot refused to drink and I lost 5k so my second lot better damn well work.

i put an electric fence a few feet in front of the glass wall. problem solved.

I used a brick wall (strength 5 or 6, can't remember which) and electric fence. Just make sure you have an electricity source nearby. With electricity that fence is strength 6, and without it's 1 or 2.

Electric fence is the only way I could find

I used Brick wall and my elephants been happy, not one break out. You can put windows in any barrier, dont use just plan glass but put a window in a stronger barrier.
