How do you judge how big your enclosure needs to be?
I am going to create my first zoo but already got stuck because I dont want to make my enclosures to big or small. The wolves need 1.1k square meters. But how do you know how big you have to make your barriers then? Also any place to see this once the habitat is been build if you need to make it bigger or smaller?

Once you make the encloser you can see how big it is. just tweak the barrier, if you dont want to waste any space. i would recommend to make it a bit bigger than needed though.

You can click on the enclosure once built and see its dimensions....don't recall if an animal has to be there before it shows....Not a big deal to make the enclosure larger or smaller though so don't sweat it too much. If an animal is in the enclosure and you click it and check the terrain tab on the animal it will actually show you if you have enough space such as land area and water etc ... if not enough it will be red otherwise it will show green.

Be aware that the more animals you have, the more space you need. Like if you want a full large herd of animals in 1 enclosure then you gonna need a lot more space than what zoopedia says.

There are many informations about the habitat at the Zoopedia. So usually first step is to look up how big should it be, what terrain type is recommended and which barricades are required.

Practice around with the size. Just build an enclosure and klick on the walls. The overview will tell you about the size. After few enclosures, you'll get a hand for it.

Maybe there is some kind of measuring tool, you can also use the grid but practicing is also good to find your way around.
