As an adult male with very long hair this extremely small selection of options was quite disappointing, more so since the avatar is supposed to look like you.
Avatar variation would be pretty low on their priority list for this game, it’s barely a feature as you almost never see it and don’t specifically use it for anything directly.
They focused their efforts elsewhere and in much more worthwhile areas that are important in this game.
From what I heard they went to great lengths to get the most accurate as possible information, behaviour and movement of every single animal in the game amongst other things.. that’s where the focus belongs.
Nobody said its a big deal or game breaker. But still bit annoying
