Releasing exhibit animals into the wild?
My Lehmann's poison frogs has been breeding like hell and i need to get rid of some and i want to release them into the wild, but i can't do it... it shows the conservation credits i will get from releasing them, but when i click the botton nothing happens.... They're not sick, they're neither elder nor juvenile and all seem to have pretty good genes in general (fertility, longevity)...

Has anybody else had this problem? If so, do you know how to fix it?

From what I understand they have to be not injured, not pregnant and they can't be recently brought for cash, and not too young. If you go into the main animal menu and select the one you want to release if you hover over the greyed out button it will usually tell you the reason why its greyed out.

It doesn't show when i hover... that was the first thing i did because i thought it would be logic if it showed why when i hovered

I too can't sell anything via exhibit storage.

edit: It seems to work if you do not select all.

The option is displayed because by default it's possible, but greyed out because you are probably in Franchise Mode. Exhibit animals can't be released into the wild in Franchise Mode.

It's annoying that it doesn't explain this from the trade menu (even if you mouse over the release option), but if you open up your master animal list (in the zoo overview menu) and try to release them there it actually will give you information when you mouse-over the greyed out "Release" button.

This is the right answer. Exhibit animals can only be sold for cash in Exhibit Mode.

Also note Rjd2's issue with the "select all" function. You must select all exhibits individually or it will not let you sell them. If you do select all, you must deselect each animal individually, then select them individually again.

i think only habitat animals can be released to the wild , unless they are bought w/ cash

in FRANCHISE MODE Exhibit animals CANNOT be released to the wild for CC credits.
ONLY HABITAT animals.
So not snails and frogs etc for creds. Only lion, tigers etc
But you can sell them for cash. And i encourage you to check the social group preferences in the zoopedia and then set up and auto sell with population management tab. Caps at 13k a year per species.
