how to place buildings like vivarium or shops on elevated platforms?

so i made a little elevated platform. i´ve seen shops and other buildings placed there during the tutorial mission, but cant do it, if creating a park by myself.
can someone explain to me, how that works?

Sorry but have to bump this. After watching Tons of guides and tries, still havent figured this one out.
Have build a beautiful elevated plaza (similar to the ape tutorial Mission) , but cant Place any Shops on top of it. ...

i think the shop is placed connecting to the raised path not on it as you cannot place a building on the path at all, so the only way ive found is to raise the path then connect the shop then grid place the path around it.

try elevating the shops X (or shift) and the green Arrow.
ive never placed obe in the Air myself but i liftet one up to see if its possible,

Using snap to grid you can make large pathway areas and leave small cutouts for exhibits or for decorative shells for the exhibits. Any structure that requires a path connection can inherently not be built directly onto a path.
