Easy way to rotate props?

Is there an easy way to rotate rocks or vines for example? The vines are all defaulted sideways and it wanted them to hang down. Same with rocks I wanted to rotate vertically instead of horizontally?

Z spins them around at pre-determined angles. Holding Z allows for more freedom of movement. Pressing X will enter Advanced Movement where you turn things on different axes. Holding shift allows you to move objects up and down. Finally, you select "align to surface" in the lower right corner of the object window to have objects automatically align/stick to surfaces.

Wow I never noticed the align to surface ...... glad I spent 1 hour placing hangin ivy manually now =)

Thanks that will save me manually aligning ♥♥♥♥ all the time.
