I have an Alienware m15 and it was around $1,300 for x-mas. Even without any customization, it runs very well. (I would recommend 16gb of ram, but that can be upgraded later) Depends on what you can afford, since I didn't buy my laptop. (Even if this has been the cheapest Alienware to date) *Note: it's a heavier laptop.
If you want to find a cheaper laptop, try to find specifications close to the Alienware m15. I had to do the gregarious work of checking and double-checking what all the specs meant, and what was the very best.
*Note: 60fps screens are a great default. Any higher makes a smoother picture, but at the cost of color.
Laptop will heat up a lot
Laptop will break easy.
Iv had nothing but bad experience with laptops.
Iv paid 2k for my laptop 3 yrs ago, ( its still working but I use it rarely) some keys of the keyboard dont work, and it heats a lot when playing games. It has a fan built for that but it doesn't do miracles.
If you want to play games, go PC. That's my advice.
I don't tend to play fps games like PUBG or other, so I don't have to worry about overheating. The most taxing games I've tested on this were The Isle and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, and I used to play some Overwatch. (Sims 4 runs good, but your choice isn't limited to this laptop, especially if you don't run too many bulky games)
I have an MSI, any info on those from your view ?
But I think the default Alienware m15 specs are a good reference point for any other type of laptop you may choose.
*Note: I chose my laptop for light gaming and artistic needs. I also liked the alien ascetic and glowing keyboard.
Those MSIs do look nice though. I just recommend alot of youtube reviews and an understanding of what exactly you need.
I do love any laptop that has anti-glare, and OMG the contrast on this screen makes the visuals, even with the default color gammut. But be careful of the material of certain screens, some can mess with the colors.
I've only seen a small handful of the cheaper ones, and I'm not really impressed by the design. They're usually kinda ugly, to me anyway.
MSI & ASUS are top Motherboard manufacturers though, both manufactures graphics cards too.
For that reason I prefer an ASUS Laptop. They have slick designs, and I have faith in the hardware inside.
There's a couple of options here:
1. You can learn to build it yourself.
2. You can find a local store that caters to custom PC, and have them service you. Most just will charge an assembly & setup fee, around the ballpark of $50-75, and includes warranty on the PC.
3. Get a tech-savvy friend to help.
For the most part, custom building has never been easier, you can familiarize yourself on PC Parts Picker:
https://pcpartpicker.com/
You can browse builds that other people have done: https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/
There are info on what their builds are geared towards, and people commenting on it. The best place to do your research & learn.
Also the game will always lag have low fps whatever you want to call it as your zoo expands regardless of what PC you have. therefore the best recommendation is probably to get the best PC you can afford that is above the recommended requirements, you could also google best PC for PZ
