Grid for fencing and pathing
I will be upfront and honest. I am extremely anal retentive about my straight lines and perfect corners. I very much have a problem with this griding and building where there is no option for a strict straight building guide, I know i'll get complaints for "life isn't perfect". I know, all i want is the ability to choose to have a detailed grid to make the best layout for me. Please and thanks.

There is an option for building paths on the grid in the path options menu on the right side of the path menu. Fencing can be made to snap to various angles - not perfect but you can get very nice squares.

The title should say.."grid for fences" only.

And I agree with you.
Something within my brain can't be happy without perfect distribution
i too would like the option for things to snap into place. for one, it wastes A LOT of space when i have to put large gaps between buldings/fences/etc. because my placement is off by a tiny bit. it's very frustrating.

i'm also really annoyed because it seems to be screwing up the pathfinding. i can't play on my zoo currently because my animals are starving to death. the buildings don't connect to the paths because they don't line up properly, no matter how i try. the staff ends up standing outside trying to get in, then giving up. my boa constrictor is about to die :( i even took everything apart and reconstructed all the paths, trying to get them to connect to the buildings. nothing :/

if they took the current path grid size, gave it grid lines so each square is divided into 16 squares (3 lines each direction) and in a slightly different color, i think it would be perfect.
to be clear, i do like the amount of freedom in general. i just think it needs a snap in place system for stuff that requires more precision.

I have the same complaints as you.

I want complete parallelism on the sidewalk and fence.
I would like to construct the sidewalk and fence in a disciplined manner just like the streets of a communist country.

Agreed. It's nice to have the freedom, bu it's ultimately more frustrating to me than gridwork.

I have the same frustration. I think everything looks square until I go to place the zoo keepers hut or utilities. I would love for there to be some kind of grid that can be turned on or off while building.

I couldnt agree more, its so frustrating to try to make the perfect lines, I usually use grid for pathing and then go from corner to corner to try and make it perfect while not getting weird paths from snapping them to the side of fences

Yes, a Sims style building grid would be amazing for lining everything up while building

Im glad to see so many share the same frustrations and hopes as myself! I swear, I even tried to line up my paths fresh from the zoo entrance using the "align to grid" and they're still crooked slightly!!!!

I am like this too; but I threw caution to the wind - and it hurt at first. I made circles and more "natural" pathing and I guess I'm okay with it.

However, a grid would be amazing.
