Help with game controls
I am liking the demo so far. It's fun, the only problems I've had so far are a crash and learning all the controls.

However, I need help with building habitats. Is there anyway to do these things that I will list below? I had a look but I couldn't find much in the help panel, plus clicking he panel was when my game crash. If they are not features in the game then I would love to see them added in.

1. Is there a way to easily find plants that have been added to enclosures that are from the wrong biome or continent etc? I found I was wasting a lot of time searching, then getting annoyed and frustrated because I couldn't find the plant.

2. Similarly, is there a way to easily find your animals? eg. Clicking on them in the zoo animals menu and it takes you to the enclosure or the specific animal you clicked on.

3. Is there a way to just click and drag fences when placing them? It's a bit annoying having to place them square by square.

I agree with you for point 1 and 2. My current method is to pause the game, remove the big stuff so I can see better to find the animal/object I want then put everything back.

The fence stuff is annoying as well.

If you click on the habitat itself, it will show all animals and plants on their appropriate tabs. When you mouse over the plants, they will highlight in the enclosure.
Not sure why the plant thing is so hard to figure out...

Go to Zoopedia discover what Continent the animal is from and what Biome the Animal is from...
Then Sort (Continent and Biome ) and place plants..... Really simple!!!

I already know about this. I'm talking about how in the Career mode (I think it's career anyway), in the tutorial it makes you go already made enclosures and you have to edit them to make them suitable for the animals. As in the developers purposefully put the wrong plants in and you need to find them. I'm talking about editing those. I Already know about the filter option.

Exactly, I just feel like there should be a much easier way to go about it.

Thank you! I'll try this next time I load up the game.
There seems to be a problem with the highlighting function in my case. My fences are not blue marked if I edit them and the plants are not marked too - I have the same issues to find the false plants. Your tip sounds extremly useful, but it did not work T_T #looking for a ... bramble since 10 minutes o_O

Check the perimeters of your exhibit as well. In the animal's habitat tab (for foliage), there will be a list of all the plants it likes and dislikes that are currently in the exhibit. I've found that trees and plants that touch or reach over the exhibit fence count in that list, so if there's "too much" foliage coverage but you don't have much in the exhibit, check the fence lines... same for a plant or tree that the animal doesn't like. It may not be in the exhibit at all, but on the border or close to one.
Yes, I too have had problems with these things. When I've had to make changes to plants in exhibits, I've done it this way. First I click on the animal in the enclosure and tab the habitat button to see what plants are not appropriate. Then I go around the exhibit and click on each plant (it turns blue and says what it is). If it matches what I was told does not belong there, I delete it, but leave the plants that are okay. I got smart, finally, and paused the game while doing all this. As for finding where the animal enclosures are, I've some luck with the "Heat Map." Another tab besides temperature shows where buildings are located, and gives an outline of the exhibits. I then have to zoom in on each exhibit to determine what it is (not easy, since I often have to locate an animal in that exhibit to know for sure). Again, pause the game. Finally, as for fences -- I'm terrible at it and like you, wish I could lay a long fence down in one piece rather than segment by segment. The other thing I've struggled with is laying fences in a straight line. Mine curve in and out like crazy. There must be a way to make them straight.

Thanks a lot for your help Cas. That is new for me, a useful tip! I will try that. Nevertheless a functional mouse over effect would be really great. No searching at all, just quick highlighted plants. Hopefully that function will be fixed later, so everybody could use it.
jmbrannan, I done it that way now (Because I will avoid to click on each single plant. There are plenty of them and many many different sorts, and I would rather keep an eye on the animals and not on plants all the time, even if the plants are beautiful too ^^). I am looking for two plants currently which wont fit in. To find them easier I plant them both (with the searching function they are easy to find in the planting mode), to have a picture in mind, to know what I am looking for. That is a little bit easier. Hopefully the mouse over effect will work soon ^^ Well, since 30 minutes I am playing hide and seek with... plants?! XD
For the plants just click on an animal then go to the plants tab. Anything with a red ! does not belong in their habitat. You can find animals by clicking their location icon in your animals menu, in this menu you can also use the filters to see which has the lowest welfare. Clicking and dragging isn't a thing however you can change the length, angle snap, and things like that to make placing them a lot faster.
