West African Lion Challenge
Morning people,

As you can see in the game this morning, we got our first one community challenge! (So excited!) Here is the challenge. Since the animals breed like rabbits, that should be easy haha.
'' Save the Kings of the Jungle!
Help to release 75000 West African Lions back into the Wild
Work together [with the Planet Zoo community] to release 75000 Lions back into the wild! Did you know that West African Lions are Critically Endangered? There are only ~250 remaining in the wild! Breeding programmes in zoos have an important role to play in preserving and rebuilding animal numbers, with releasing animals to the wild being the ultimate goal of these activities. Can you, as a community, achieve this objective? You have from Thursday 26th September @ 12pm BST until Thursday October 3rd @ 12pm to reach the goal! Good luck, we believe you can do it!''

I can't wait to see what the reward is!!

So, let's go everyone, breed lions release them to the wild and please don't forget to sell some in the trade for the others who need lions.

SO! How many lions did you release so far? I For myself, I just bought my first trio.

Good luck everyone! :)

If there isn't one, I'm honestly not sure what the problem would be... You said their genetics were better, so I assume they had at least SOME fertility gene.

Thank you for your answer! As soon as I saw it, I opened the game again to check if this was the problem. However, apart from a few "this animal is pregnant" red signs, all females are good for breeding, not to mention all my males (I have like 10 in the Trade Center). Now I have another pair not willing to breed again :<

There may just be something I'm missing. Can you tell me how you make them keep breeding and what you do when they die or get older?

If the animals are compatible they will keep breeding on thier own, no need to do anythign.

When they get older I release them into the wild. always be on the lookout from the liters for better genetics and check the potential mates on the genetic page, it will say the percent chance of them have liters.

Hi
In their last post Frontier said they had fix, or trying to fix, the crazy amount of litter the animal has. So maybe the breeding is back to normal and it's harder to have babies with some species. At least, they figure out the notifications and we got an alert now when an animal is pregnant or give birth.

Now I meet the weird bug again but It make money like no tomorrow : many lions give birth then game crash I open the game all lions remain but in "Animal Trading" I have second copy of all the new born so I get x2 lions = free about 10 newborn lions with the same name.

If we are wanting to get this done people need to sell the lions a bit cheaper so more people can buy and breed them etc now some just have insane prices

Most of the lions I saw in trade are between 300-600. It's very reasonable and cheap price considering frontier suggest and sell them like 900 leaves average. People will not sell the lions cheaper than what release in the wild will gave them lol. Sometimes release them in the wild gave me 600 leaves or more depending on the rating. It's not realistic to expect people sell them cheaper than the challenge gives them. And with the birth rate get back to normal, the price will probably get higher because instead of having 5-6 babies per lion, you got 2 or 3 now (which is a good thing)

Some others animals are way pricier than the lion. I paid my African Elephant like 2.3k each.

Work your way out and earn money. One day you will be able to buy your trio :)

You're selling them? Aren't we supposed to be releasing them into the wild?

It's kind'a sad to watch these lion cubs grow up into adults and be set loose, knowing they're just going to be killed by some savages that think some part of the lion anatomy will cure impotence or increase stamina. My cats deserve better.

Just had my first lion cub born :D I plan to build up a decent sized pride and then combo release and sell to help more people get in on this :D

Yay congrats!
I've got so many lioness... I need to go in the enclosure like every 10 minutes to release or sell the grown up babies because males fight with each other and get injure, they grow up so fast x.x.. At least with the patch now I don’t have 8 babies per lioness to manage. I hope they will ‘’slow’ the time a little in the final version because it’s kind of difficult managing all the babies animals all around the park.

75 lions release in the wild so far!

What is the reward you earn from releasing a lion? I clicked to get it and it gave me error 302?

You get conservation points depending on the quality of the animal released.
