Animal Market problems
I'm curious why the dev team thought it would be a good idea to have the animal market be managed via a central server?

In most zoo games the supply of animals is managed locally on your machine.

I know that people will eventually be able to trade animals with each other, but the normal purchase of animals is such a critical component of the game, I don't know why you would jeopardise that by managing it via a server?

The animal pool could be generated locally, and the algorithm patched for changes as required, with the injection of player traded animals on request?

it is a pity that there is no search option that would significantly facilitate the search for animals, e.g. the number range from e.g. 150 to 300 animals that you want to buy because searching for animals in this form which is tragic

You can filter by species, currency and set a currency range in the animal market search options.

Anyways as Rumpelstilzchen said, they are going to add a 4th mode that is going to be franchise mode offline. That and the sandbox options give anyone the choice to really play this game the way they like best.

I knew Frontier didn't need to be doubted. They are a small team, but that means that they can listen and implement solutions quicker than other teams.

Sounds logical to me! It's nearly impossible to get new animals : (

So this also means that offline play is impossible in this game.

In franchise mode, yes. Sandbox mode no.

The whole beta is a whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of problems so far i was not able to buy a single animal with cash in the animal market.

It's great to pay 55 € to test the beta and not be able to buy animals in a zoo game.
Congratulations the devs for your idea of genius!

Has there been any indication that Sandbox mode have any options other than infinite money? I really like to challenge myself in these games and don't always want unlimited money. I'd rather that franchise mode had a switch where you could pick in the settings whether you wanted to be online or offline.

Please be respectful towards one another. Many posts had to be deleted.

Okay big boy.

So in response to your OP. Clearly the devs wanted to put in the market place as it will be in the final game like that.

Thanks for engaging (somewhat) constructively! Can you think of a good reason why they would choose to implement it in that way rather than the way I suggested?

I'm guessing because Franchise mode is supposed to be the online aspect of it where as what you want is what Sandbox mode will be (minus the online aspect). All speculation at this point though.

I just spent 15 minuets trying to adoped a single animal. I tried multiple spiecies and I kept getting failed adoption until i ran out of money. THIS IS A BIG ISSUE

Same with me guys, Im getting frustrated over here. I can see the animals but whatever I do, I cant manage to adopt them, the button just doesnt work. I like the idea and I know we are in a beta, but since I cant move on in a scenario and the sandbox is locked, what else can we do in a game where we cant buy animals? ..
Dominian Sep 25, 2019 @ 8:06am
In Sandbox you should have them (and everything else) unlocked and a couple of options what management aspects you wish to shut out.

So for the management in Franchise mode, the bugs, the crashes and the animal market really give me mixed feelings about this test. I have fun building habitats, I like the visual improvements of the new engine and the high res animals.

Animals Market would be alright, if it had a bit better search options and wasn't so slow. Super annoying when you find a good breeding couple and after buying the first one you try the second of the pair and it doesn't work. You refresh to see the same animal and it's still not purchaseable.

Animal Market should only be for conservation points to get the best animals and maybe other bonuses. But the alternative to this needs to be a simple purchase of any kind of animal with random mediocre stats.

I don't know u guy but for me it's very easy to make profits and get leafs to buy hard to get animals maybe because I familiar with both planet coaster and Jurassic world.

I think they should just have 2 options: one would be an offline way to get animals, and one where you could trade with other people, and they could have them as seperate menus

Please do a hotfix for this, this is basically a blocker, I just want to be able to buy some animals. Thanks!
