VVVVV doesn't launch
Hey there, I'm trying to launch VVVVV, but when i hit 'play' it just pops out a window saying 'Preparing to launch' and then nothing happens.

I already tried to reinstall, check cache and things like that.

What else can I do? :(

Starting from 2.4, these dependencies will be statically-linked, meaning you no longer need to install VC++ redistributables to play this game.

It's been a while, but better late than never, right?

Same here... wanted to play it again.... but it just doesn't start... don't know why... and don't event have an idea what the problem could be... since it's the same computer...
Only thing I've changed was the Tower.

this has happened to me three times on other games, binding of isaac rebirth, geometry dash and rflex. Ive got no idea what it is, maybe your computer dosent meet system requirements. Honesly, ive got no idea. If i were you, i would get a refund, which you do by going to help (in the top left corner) and then steam support.

Me too. I’m Windows 10/AMD Athlon II N330 Dual-Core Processor(2.3GHz)/6GB RAM.

'Preparing to Launch' window pops up for a split second and then nothing happens. It's happened to a few other games too like ‘Age of Empires II: HD Edition’ (has since resolved itself), ‘Diehard Dungeon’ and ‘You Have to Win the Game’.

I solved it. Go to the vvvvvv.exe and select Properties and compatibility. then "Run in 640x480 resolution"

Open the game :)

You can uncheck that option if the game runs

I had the same problem:

In my case launching VVVVVV.exe allowed me to see the "msvcr100.dll is missing from your computer.", just installed the related package from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=26999) and now it is working (btw install the 32bit, it's the only one that worked for me).

Try VVVVVV; it's much better than VVVVV

Not sure if I can be of much help here, but if you can't launch the game at all, try to apply for the "glitchrunners" beta (which is the older version 2.0) for that game. If it works if you do that, then it has something to do with the change to SDL2 which isn't good... At least one user got his problem solved this way in earlier discussions.

maybe you need to insert msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll into the vvvv folder
