Post-game trinkets: should I go back or restart?
I've already beaten the game once, but only obtained half the trinkets. I didn't nab the one in "Doing Things the Hard Way" either.

Which is better if I'm just aiming to unlock the Secret Lab: going back for the trinkets in the post-game, or starting fresh with a new save and collecting all the trinkets again?

If you go back in the post-game, then you won't have to spend time replaying the either of the Intermission stages or the Final Level (the only trinket in any of these levels is unmissable). You'll also be able to use any undiscovered sections of the map as an indicator of where you haven't yet looked (the map will reset if you start from scratch). Another time-saver is the ability to teleport to the midway-points of most of the main levels - e.g. if you missed the solitary trinket in the Warp Zone, then you can simply teleport to the start of the second half of that level (where the trinket is); you could also get to "Doing Things The Hard Way" faster, too, by teleporting to the midway-point of Space Station 2. Not to mention that you won't have to re-obtain any of the trinkets which you've already found. Plus, if you found Victoria last, then one of the trinkets is only accessible in the post-game.

So if you intend to search for the trinkets without a guide, then I'd recommend reloading your current save file. On the other hand, if you're planning to tally-up any trinkets which you find in an area against a numbered guide, then it might be worth starting again (unless you can remember how many trinkets you found in each area).

If you speak to Victoria in the post game she'll also tell you where the rest of the trinkets are.

That's a good point, actually.

This is completely wrong. If you don't have Victoria rescued, then you can talk to Vitellary to get the trinket instead.

Ah, I never knew that. Thanks!
