They are in the version on the JAST store and if you buy the patch from there. If you buy the game on Steam and then buy the patch from the JAST store, you actually save money. But as Gae Force said, it's not really worth it for the h scenes but if you want the full story, it is worth it. The h scenes really aren't the reason to play this game in the first place, it's for the masterpiece of a story.

they aren't animated at all, and are very uncomfortable to read - i had to skip through them. it's sort of a "you'll see why" kind of thing but they are very graphic and disturbing, wish i hadn't listened to other reviews and bought it tbh

Yea, the protag has sex with a loli "person" so if you'd like to skip that just buy the steam version. There's also several grape scenes that are censored, but the text is still there.

People are calling Saya's early sex scenes uncomfortable? They're the most sane thing about this story! It's supposed to be cute. It's supposed to be endearing. Calm away from the horrors. All so Urobochi can rip the rug out from under your feet and show you genuinely disturbing scenes involving the soft-spoken ex-girlfriend x Saya in the later H scenes. There's also the part where it's relevant to Saya's biology and the "true" ending.

If you're looking at them for the hot smexy times, then no. The H scenes are designed (much like the rest of the game) to unsettle you, and with me at least, they succeeded. For *that* purpose some people feel it's worth it, that it adds to the atmosphere. Personally, I felt outright ill reading them. So, if you're looking to un-censor the game for erotic reasons, then no, dear god no. If you're looking to do so to enhance the game's atmosphere then...maybe? IMHO the game works perfectly well both censored and uncensored.

While this is a year old necroed post. I guess it's still relevant. I just played the game (Ok it's not really a game, it's a book on your monitor where you make two choices.) with both the censored version and the uncensored version.

I personally recommend the censored version if your here for the story, since the adult scenes get... weird. (The later ones) Not horror, just weird, japanese hentai batsh*t crazy weird. However... People are correct in saying that some of the cut dialogue from this stuff does indeed tie in with the story and without it you do lose a tiny piece of the explained plot, but nothing you can't figure out without it.

The H scenes are essential to the experience, it's basically all about how trauma, psychosis, emotional isolation and all of that fun stuff can turn normal people into callous monsters. They're not even really supposed to be "erotic" (unless you're a weirdo like me), the whole point is that you're supposed to find it a bit uncomfortable.

Get GOG version - as I understand it's complete with H scenes and does NOT require any path to be COMPLETE PRODUCT, contrary to castrated Steam ver...

This game was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft (fact). You all know how messed up Lovecraft was. Now imagine if he included H-Scenes in his stories. And imagine what those H-Scenes would be like.

They're like that, exactly.

As stated above, the scenes are horribly disturbing. They do, however, add to the mood, showing just how far one character is slipping into madness. I would recommend trying the game with them on. But if you get too disturbed, switch to the censored version. That will allow you to still enjoy this gripping story.
