SCP-457 The Burning Man
SCP-457: "The Burning Man"
I wanted to write out my idea for a SCP that was prototyped and considered for the game a long time ago that never came out.

The basic idea is that SCP-457 would have to play aggressively to stay alive which I feel like would be a nice thing to have given how stall-heavy current SCP gameplay is. The person playing SCP-457 would be at a disadvantage if they played too safe or stalled too long and be rewarded for being on the offense.

--SCP-457 does not have HS, but has a high health pool to compensate which it slowly loses over time

--Whenever SCP-457 kills someone, their body and all their items are burnt up in the process, leaving behind a pile of ash to warn others the burning man may be nearby

--Every time SCP-457 kills a player, its size increases and its max health increases, and in extension its current health, based on how many items the player was carrying, up to a cap

--Being bigger has the potential of also giving it more attack range, if such a thing would be balanced. If not it's not necessary to have for 457 to work.

--When this cap is reached, SCP-457 splits, losing half of its max health and mass, starting the process over again. A random spectator will become the new SCP-457.

--SCP-457 can place small temporary fire traps that will ignite those who walk through it at a small cost of its max hp and mass, dealing a fixed amount of health over time. This coincides with its article and give it a means to cut off chases or force damage through key areas

--SCP-457 can also spend some of its HP and mass to leave behind a trail of flames where it walks for a 5 seconds, on a cooldown. The flames will linger for a while and deal damage similar to the traps

--A possible idea to coincide with its fire abilities is that these traps and flame steps will burn up flammable items left on the ground. This includes ammo boxes, armor, candy, stuff like that. Doing this does not give back any HP or mass. Not sure if this would be balanced, but it's not a necessary mechanic to make 457 work anyway.

--The thought process behind the abilities and their health cost, besides coinciding with the SCP's "fuel" lore, is that it allows multiple playstyles: you can either play a trap-heavy 457 or save your "fuel" up to split into more allies.

--Because it is made out of fire, SCP-457 takes less damage from bullets and grenades (0.75x perhaps) but more damage from SCP-244 (1.5x or 2.0x). This gives it some leeway to play aggressively without HS but still killable.

--Furthermore, a proposed idea is to have fire extinguishers spawn in areas that are capable of doing massive amounts of damage to SCP-457 and can extinguish its fire traps. Alternative methods of dealing with SCPs is an idea I liked about early SL and wish was expanded upon.

Please let me know what you think, feedback, other ideas, etc. I doubt Northwood will be adding a new playable SCP for a while, but who knows.

could improve the most useless non-playable SCP and a very fun fire extinguisher mechanic and if better not to make it so vulnerable a rechargeable control of 10 uses to turn on the fire alarm in a room
