Controller Support?
since it's a first-person shooter game and all it sorta seemed like it was a given that controllers would be supported for the game. But when I tried using a controller none of the buttons did anything and the joystick didn't move the mouse.

Did you check the store page? Because the store page doesn't say it supports controllers.

Also why would it be a given? The majority of PC gamers agree that a first-person shooter game is worse with a controller than with a keyboard and mouse because of how inaccurate and awkward using a controller is.

I know it doesn't say there's controller support. That's why this is in the suggestions category.

This would be good for inclusive reasons, but otherwise, meh.

Oh, this was posted in the suggestion category? Huh, so it is.

The reason I didn't know is because there's no suggestion in your original post, it reads more like you assumed that there was controller support but when the controller didn't work after being plugged in you came here to ask how you get it to work.

When "hopefully" this game gets really popular, they should port it to consoles like XBOX, or the PS4. So maybe this isn't a bad idea if this is what the developers wish for what their game to be in the future, they can work ahead so they can get the controls nailed.

There are ways to disguise your controller as a keyboard+mouse with third party software. Look into it.

"Most PC gamers" is a bit of an exageration. Even so, game developers should take into account the number of controller favoring gamers despite the general concensus. That way there game is enjoyable by everyone, not just keyboard enthusiasts.

Alright, seems like you're interested in this old thread. I'm not sure if sharing other programs is allowed, but I guess I'll find out... I have a Playstation 4 controller and I use DS4Windows. You can connect the controller to your computer with USB and map keyboard inputs and mouse movements to different controller buttons or joystick locations. It might take a bit of experimentation to find out what "works" in this game, but it is definitely do-able. I recommend X for Space, Square for E, Circle for R, the big touchpad thing for Tab, and Right and Left bumpers for aiming weapons and stuff like that. You can configure the right joystick to move the mouse, and set sensitivity, and make the left joystick press W, A, S, and D depending on which way it is moved. It is definitely playable.

I just recently got into this game, so naturally I came to this thread a bit late.

tbh I haven't played this game for a few months now since it got really repetitive and nothing really changed. The game has stayed the same, the way players act stayed the same and it's just overall gotten pretty boring. So this post is now pretty pointless but I'll keep it up for other players anyway.
