Ping spikes

This game is notorious for ping spikes for me client side. Sometimes the ping will spike up to 1000ms and kick me from the server, even when I'm in the same area that the server is hosted.
I tried so many things to attempt to alleviate this issue, including disabling wifi autoconfig to no avail.
My internet is high quality but I only face this issue with this game in particular..
