How to use voice chat in-game

So I bought a pair of headphones and di everything that is required and I can talk with people in discord but it does not seem to work when playing Scp Secret Laboratory so please help me out and voice chat is enabled on steam.

Hold Q, then use vocal cords inside your body to speak

This voice chat btw is based on distance so the closer you are to a player they will hear you better vs far away. Only voice chat that will sound the same, regardless of distance, is SCP voice chat (For the whole team and that team only), radio (which costs battery life on them so it's limited time), and the intercom which has a cooldown depending on the server settings.

go into steam settings, audio then select your microphone as the input, then go to the game and click either system default or your microphone

if neither work, go to your computer's audio settings and select your microphone as the main input, if that doesn't work then install new audio drives

if all else fails, resort to head bobbing and jumping as non verbal communication
