Client Failing to Authenticate in Time
I took a break from playing for a few months and now every time I try to join a server I'm met with a black screen for about half a minute, then a message about my client failing to authenticate in time.

I have already tried:
Authenticating the files.
Restarting Steam.
Restarting my computer.
Restarting my internet
Starting the game with my options reset (I assumed this is why that was an option but apparently not).
Reinstalling.
Giving inputs once I've joined the server (saw someone talk about this being a solution to the issue for them)
Launching as an admin

Obviously, none of these worked.

My ping is good on the server I'm connecting to (21ms), and I don't have any new antivirus.

Looking at the console it looks like it swaps to an HttpProxy saying the task was cancelled, then goes to a UnityWebRequest giving me a wall of error text that seems to just be saying the request timed out, then it kicks me.

This series of actions also seems to happen when I am connecting to the central server, and loading the server list but instead of getting kicked the game just connects me/gives me the server list

Seems like maybe the UnityWebRequest works and the game is just kicking me before it can do its thing? Is there some way to make the game start with doing that as the default? Or is there some other option for fixing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Looking through a few more posts I should also mention I am running the latest version of windows 10 and I have tried joining disaster den which according to this post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/700330/discussions/2/1734339624796467299/ is seemingly the official host of US-West. I've also tried to join the official Canada servers with the same results. So neither my OS nor the server I am connecting to are the issue

Try deleting %appdata%/SCP Secret Laboratory folder. Uninstall the game then restart your PC. After that, install the game again and try joining a server.

Seemingly didn't work, also feels like it now takes longer to connect to the central servers but that may just be in my head

You are able to see servers available in the game's server browser?

yes, although initially when loading up the game it gave me an error and I had to direct connect. Didn't write down what the error was though and it has since went away. Booting the game back up it pulls up the server list fine.

That means your internet is fine but when the game needs to load a level, the problem arises. What's the spec of your PC?

I have an Intel I7 Processor, 64 GB of memory and a 1080 graphics card, same specs I had when I was playing before and never ran into this issue. Should mention that when I said "pulls up the server list fine" that is after about 30 seconds or so of loading with it going through an HttpProxy and UnityWebRequest before pulling it up. Though I don't think it's a problem with my internet, I have a pretty fast ethernet connection and have never run into issues with it in the past.

Normally when you open the server browser, only "loading server list..." should be printed in the console and nothing else. Which antivirus software are you using? Also, have you tried manually restarting your router?

The console goes through swapping to an HttpProxy and UnityWebRequest before pulling up the server list, like I said in the original post. Currently the only real time antivirus I use is the default windows one. I've already reboot my router, had no effect.

It's definitely not normal. Are you able to access api.scpslgame.com through the Edge browser?

Try following this to disable other network adapters.

< 29. Stuck on connecting to central servers/No Servers Available. >
Try disabling all unused network adapters by going to Control Panel, clicking on "Network and Internet", click on "Network and Sharing Center", and on the left hand side you will see "Change adapter settings", click on that and it will bring you to a list of network adapters, Right click on any unused ones (Ex. VMWare, VirtualBox, etc.) and hit disable.

If this doesn't work, I will need your player log to determine what is wrong. Please follow this, then copy the content to Pastebin.com, then put the generated link to your Paste in the thread.

< 15. How do I find my player log? >

Player log:
* Steam Library > SCP: Secret Laboratory > Properties > Local Files > Browse local files
* Run the windows batch file titled ‘log.bat’
* The output log will be a text file titled ‘Player.log’

Hello Zircon. I deleted the %appdata%/SCP Secret Laboratory folder and it worked. But now I'm having the same issue again so I'm doing all of this process again, Do I have to do this over and over or is there a solution?
