Black screen on joining server.

I wanted to join this one server. I started connecting at it took forever. I quit at the "Loading map" or whatever it is part cause it was stuck on that for like 12 minutes. My game freezes. I see the "Press Q for voice chat" and a black screen. I am unable to interact with anything in this blackscreen. Can't press Esc, etc. only way for me to get out of it is by going windowed with esc + ctrl then stopping Scp:sl in steam. Anyway to fix this?

That means you have only partially joined the server. To solve this, press ` to open your game console. Type disconnect then click enter. Let the game go back to main menu and rejoin the server.
