"Timed out"
So I've decided to come back to SCP:SL after not playing it for about two months and I've run into a connection issue I didn't have before. I can load into the game, browse through all the servers and join them but I'll quickly end up timing out.
Most of the time I get upto the part its says "Q to speak" but then quickly timing me out, longest was when I actually got into a game on my second attempt at joining before getting stuck in a room due to none of the doors opening before timing out once again (on a 35-50 ping server as well).
Through my research I've turned off anti virus and that doesn't work. I've also tried it on my old laptop and although it refuses to run anything past the menus (crashes constantly) it didn't give me any problems trying to join a server. Any suggestions?

Verify game integrity first. Also try joining server from another region, with ping 150 or above to see if your problem is client side or server side.

Did so and was able to connect to the higher ping server

If no timed out error is shown for the higher ping server, that means the issue is probably the internet connection between your PC and the server that gave you timed out. Nothing you can do to fix it unfortunately unless you want to go through a lot of troubles.
