Sometimes dog just doesn't want to pounce?

I get into the stance and all, but it just doesn't let me to pounce. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

iirc moving your mouse a lot doesn’t let you lunge, you have to hold still for a while.

Basically what Otavio,o said. Moving your mouse around a lot before focusing causes your lunge to be slightly offset, or at least that's how I can explain it.
