I think it’s the execution, not the concept, that’s getting people worked up. “Look, our main character’s a lesbian, aren’t we inclusive?” Surely you can have a character be LGBT without having it be their sole “draw” to audiences?
It wouldn’t be so bad if content creators didn’t respond the way they did, though.
In the video, you see people raising valid criticism against SCPs of dubious quality. Any reasonable discourse is ignored entirely for driving any and all “intolerance” (the hypocrisy is lost on them) off the website. Is immersion really too much to ask for?
The video really does go out of its way to show the “free speech for me, but not for thee’ mentality progressive circles have, unfortunately, become rife with.
They were banned for disagreeing, though.
The video shows time and time again that any and all criticism is discarded for even a trace of “bigotry.”
