Why is the ping so bad?

The ping is near unplayable. Im in SEA. Conrcting to china servers itself gives 300+ ping. I have good internet (3 ping on ookla ping test). On other games like bf1 i can play on japanese servers and consistently get less than 60 ping. I can live with 100-200 ping but 300 is just way too much to the point where the game is not even playable.

You get 3 ping in Ookla Test because it automatically connects to the closest server for you. The closer the server from your physical location, the lower the ping.
You get 300+ ping when connected to China servers are due to several reasons. The common ones are usually poor server quality, poor connection between you and the server (because of server service providers), your internet service provider is bad at maintaining good connections when you are connecting to some overseas servers (unlikely for your case), etc.
You may also get 300 ping because the connection is not directly made. The route may go to different locations before reaching the server, which in turn increases the ping too.
All you can do is to play in different servers.

I guess its because of poor quality servers. On other games i consistently get less than 60 ping when conecting to japan and hong kong which are supposed to be farther away from china. Yet both regions give 300+ ping. I've even played on european servers on other games with less than 100 ping.

Idk why i cant even find a decent server with less than 200 ping on this game. Games with much smaller comunities have better servers run not by the game but by the players themselves (remember that european server i talked about?).

Sooo..... Is the ping a just a me problem? Given the conditions i described and how i can play on perfectly normal servers with less than a 100 ping on servers in japan and even europe sometimes.

Or is this high ping something that happens to everyone in the game and is common with most servers? I really want to enjoy the game but 300 ping on every server is litterally unplayable.

Like I said, probably not your problem. The quality of the server and the connections between you and the server play critical roles. You can't do anything about them sadly since it's not your problem. All you can do is to join other servers. Australia servers have acceptable ping for me so why not give it a try?

AU Pantheon, Kitchen Island and Official servers are decent. Always full of people during peak hours.
