MTF suck, because their equipment, for the most part, isn't up to the task. Radios, that hardly anyone uses(-1 inventory space), keycards, that can't even open gates(which with 079 easily gets them stuck and killed), only 1 medkit per player(CI has both medkit and painkillers), guns, that are effective either against SCPs or against human enemies, but never both.
And of course, body armor, that doesn't protect you from SCPs (even while 049 needs direct skin contact, 939 bites do not have any anomalous piercing, so both attacks are something armor supposed to protect against). Seriously, it's unit with specific purpose of dealing with containment breaches, and they bring exactly 0 countermeasures to SCPs?
You do not feel like well equipped soldier, you feel like D-boy in armor and with gun. Both of which do not add much confidence, when both aren't going to save you in 1 v 1 encounter of SCP kind.
The most common ♥♥♥♥ I see in this game in regards to players and their role as MTF, D-Class, Scientist, etc. when they first spawn
They waste it waiting to be swarmed in 914 despite the fact they have no loot to upgrade
They never shoot at SCPs that are worth shooting at as a guard
They never shoot at SCPs and run off in their own into easily killable single targets as MTF
If people actually tried to survive and make their spawning life worth a damn as the human classes the game would be a lot better.
Not really something most people will get used to, y'know, surviving, when they will mostly spawn as the most disadvantaged class in the game, in other words, the D-Bois.
Why get better at living when you're seemingly doomed to die?
A little hard when 90% of the servers are filled with not-so competent people, and the ones that are are running Exiled, filled with tryhards and generally boring people, and might even be in a different country.
The world is your oyster, but not the SL server list.
Yes, so while SCPs are busy with you, they can get away. If you want to survive escaping from SCP, you only need to run faster, than next guy.
It's not a team game, for the most part, because working together often simply means dying together.
I wish everyone treated it like that, but when you have the MTF messing around, the SCPs are try their hardest to ruin everyone's day. And when everyone's messing around, someone will be annoyed and pissed off.
In lore they'd play it smart. Kill all Class-D that resist, capture the ones that don't and escort them to either contain or bait the anomaly that needs containment. Firing at an SCP is purely panic, but in some cases, mandatory.
In lore, MTF are way, way more badass.
