Horror in SCP: SL
Considering the game's premise of being about a horror-survival game based off one of the most popular horror writing sites. How do you feel about it? Is it scary, not scary, could be scarier? Do certain characters/moments stand out and can the game become scarier? (additional SCPs, atmosphere changes, gameplay changes, etc)

It used to feel some what tensioning, depending on the individual, but all the fear in this game has been completely thrown away with the Parabellum update, which gave us an unnecessary, realistic weapons overhaul that gave the game a more tactical first person shooter feeling than a survival horror game feeling surrounding SCP.

I'm a big first person shooter enthusiast but if i want to go play a good FPS i just go play HL2 or Doom Eternal. Not this unstable, stiff game that doesn't understand what it wants to be.

This game is much more suited as a survival shooter than a cheap half-assed horror game and that is what Northwood should be going for.

I agree, I would love it if this game became more scary but to be honest? I really don't see how that can be done what with the amount of memes that go around every match

I've seen very few these days playing on UK servers. I know it's different in America, but 220 MS isn't my style.

Pretty much this. As soon as they started making SCP:SL about the guns. The horror survival aspect diminished greatly. The game had a better atmosphere when it still had the pew pew laser weapons even.

It was simple back then. You didn't have to worry too much about inventory management, or what attachments your gun has.

Yeah I agree.

Just because SCP is based around horror doesnt necessarily mean that SL just has to be anything that would scare the player.

Exactly! It used to feel like an actual survival horror game back then, but not it just feels like a tactical shooter where you gotta pay more attention to the way you use the guns than actually surviving the horrors out there. Like i said, if i want to go play a first person shooter i just go play Doom or Half-Life, and not an SCP game.

honestly, with the playerbase, this game can never be serious. ive accepted that. be aware that there will be people spamming "what the dog doin?" on mic and drop the "tactical FPS" or "survival horror." this game is about the community, and that is where it shines.

This used to be a horror game back in early 2018, then a lot of immature people have been introduced to this game by edgy youtubers.

Not scary, nw made peanut look scariest but it isn't
ehhh, it has its tense moments this game has a pretty cringe community, with all the unfunny meme spams and all, it's still pretty fun though
