Scp 049
What would happen if 049 touched 096?
I don’t mean like in the game because in the game it does nothing, in the lore would it still kill him?

No, 096 has extreme regenerative abilities.

Whatever 049's touch does, 096 can survive. 096 is supposed to be practically invincible, impervious to all known methods of destruction.

Now, 682 VS 096? I'd pay to see that. Or maybe not, since that would piss 096 off.
think of 096 as mr meeseeks, it wont go away till it has it's task done but the task the right thing to kill it

That's an interesting analogy. I like that.

also,
Item: SCP-096

Tissue Test Record:
N/A

Termination Test Record:
Containment tank containing SCP-096 was placed in SCP-682's cell. Personnel vacated vicinity and the tank was opened remotely.

Screams of the two entities continue for twenty-seven (27) hours, at which point the noise abruptly stops. Sonar-based video feeds reveal SCP-096 severely "wounded" and huddled in the southwest corner, apparently upset. Feed shows SCP-682 on the north end of the room, approximately 85% of its initial mass absent. Re-containment teams retrieve both entities with relative ease.

Further attempts to expose SCP-096 to SCP-682 cause it to turn away from 682, jumping in place while clawing at its face and screaming.

No he's not, as much i wish him to (i really don't like 096 as an SCP, sorry 096 boiz). The thing is that the SCP canon is a total clusterfook, so the termination is not canon. In a nutshell 096 is terminated in it's own canon (based on Incident 096-1-A, the nerd that sabotaged the SCRAMBLE gear was set up for termination with 096, and he could take 096 with him, a hellish amount of termination attempts later and 096 died at the hands of peanut after being severely injured by the tests.), but not entirely in the wiki.

As others have said, that was a theoretical battle and death. The 'official' canon doesn't say "Neutralized".

Item #: SCP-096

Object Class: Euclid

If you want to see an example of a 'Neutralized' SCP, read SCP-1762

While on the original topic, Is this video canon?(Link below) Are 096 and 049 canonically buddies? I’ve always imagined something like this: SCP-049 is put in SCP-096’s cell with SCP-096 huddled in the center of the room, crying. Despite being given instructions on what to do, SCP-049 was just ignoring SCP-096 for the whole operation. If it managed to see SCP-096’s face, It was able to keep SCP-096 calm with that Cure it has, but the cycle would keep going. Once SCP-049 was taken back to it’s cell, Dr. [REDACTED] asked why it deliberately disobeyed instructions, to which it replied “Because I knew what you were trying to make me do Doctor. It’s my duty to cure the sick from the Pestilence, not kill those before the Pestilence does.” Perhaps we can use SCP-049’s cure to neutralize SCP-096 as a temporary solution while we keep experimenting
