Sorry, I forgot that Stephen King co-wrote it with Game of Thrones writer George R. Martin.

If I had remembered this important fact, maybe I wouldn't have been so bigoted to think that Secret Lab was anything less than a one-off piece of fan fiction that went for two pages and then ended with a half-assed cliffhanger that made you want more, but never actually promised you anything else, leading to its fans being very disappointed and eventually diffident of the writer's skill at creating a concept and plot and a set of characters worth reading, watching, or hunting easter eggs for.

So the wiki, that this whole universe that this game is based on, names stuff in it based on things in this universe, factions, characters, SCPs/anomalies isnt important at all and the only thing that is, is the non-existent lore of SL? that dosent exist? i get why 173 was changed but its purely because NW wasnt legally allowed to make money with the old model, and anything "lore" related is just padding to explain discrepancy with the original material its based on, the original design is very iconic, and its very important because 173 was the very first SCP ever, as much as its copyrighted material, it at the very least should have stayed closer to the original design while making clear strides to seperate the two, like the cancelled SCP Unity 173, which atleast keeps the overall shape and pose of the original but giving it its own style and creep factor, the one NW came up with is really overdoing it and is trying too hard to be scary looking by being 3 statues fused together, and it really loses it because of that, while the original design is more creepy in a simple way, which is why it worked so well, making everything gross and twisted isnt always the best option to make something scary and memorable.
